Apply for a kitten We help you prepare for life with a Maine Coon.
There is more to choosing a Maine Coon than falling in love with a photograph. We want you to understand the care behind your kitten, feel prepared for homecoming, and know where to turn as your life together grows. These guides connect our program with the practical questions families often ask.
Good questions help you choose with confidence.
Choosing your breeder
Asking about health records, temperament, placement policies, and ongoing support helps you understand the program behind a kitten. These conversations can help you decide whether a breeder’s approach suits your family.

A prepared space gives your kitten somewhere to feel comfortable as they learn about their new home. Before buying supplies, ask us about the food, litter, and routines they already know so you can begin with familiar things.
What your kitten comes home with- Prepare a quiet starting room.Have a bed, hiding place, scratcher, litter tray, food and water ready before arrival.
- Keep the essentials familiar.Follow the transition guidance we provide for food and day-to-day routines.
- Check the space.Secure windows and cords, and put small items and unsafe plants out of reach.
- Plan introductions gradually.Allow time to settle before meeting other pets. Let comfort guide the pace.
- Arrange ongoing care.Have a veterinarian selected and keep the health records and care instructions together.
- Stay connected.Share questions and updates with us as you learn your kitten’s individual personality.
Make time for the companion you are welcoming.
Coat & handling

Our approach to grooming introductionsPlay & companionship
Plan daily time together, suitable scratching options, sturdy resting places and opportunities to explore. Personality matters as much as appearance when choosing a companion.

Keep records, arrange routine veterinary care and discuss your cat’s changing needs with your veterinarian. Breeding-cat screening and your own cat’s ongoing care serve different purposes.
Understand health testingWe welcome the questions that help you prepare.
How much will my kitten cost?
Our Process page brings the current pet price, deposit and full policies together in one place.
Can you predict adult size or personality from a photograph?
A photograph cannot promise adult size or the right temperament for a household. We discuss the individual kitten, their parents and what we observe as they develop. TICA describes Maine Coons as a breed that matures slowly.
Are the kitten coat previews photographs?
Coat previews in our litter plans are illustrations labeled Mockup. Use them to explore possible colors and patterns; they do not predict an individual kitten’s exact appearance.
Does early training mean my kitten will be comfortable with everything?
Early experience gives you a foundation to build on. Each kitten has their own pace and preferences, and comfort can change in a new environment. Explore how we introduce everyday skills.
Where can I see parents and their health records?
Start at Our Cats, then open an individual profile. Ask us about any report or assessment you would like to understand.
How does the six-year conditional health guarantee work?
We offer a six-year conditional health guarantee covering the specific conditions outlined in our contract, provided qualifying pet health insurance is maintained. We will provide the full contract after your video interview.
Keep learning as your life together develops.
